Dr. Liza María Pompa González

She has quite an impressive background in the field of medicine. Not only is she brilliant, but she is an incredible woman with a great deal of compassion, sense of philanthropy and professionalism, being recognized as one of the most outstanding women of her country.


Dr. Pompa started her medical studies more than a decade ago, graduating from Baja California's Autonomous University, Tijuana campus, achieving the prestigious Merit Award of academic excellence, to later compete for a spot on Surgery Residency among thousands of other applicants, accomplishing First Place in the Surgical Residency Nation wide Exam.


Her natural surgical skills and brilliant academic performance were noted during her Surgery Residency at Tijuana's General Hospital in Mexico, were she was appointed Chief of Surgery. She was a resident and Chief of Residents of the Hospital, a first for a woman. She then had the opportunity to train at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota as a visiting resident, perfecting new and advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgical techniques. She is known for her extensive preparation in the surgical field, completing her training overseas in the European Institute of Telesurgery in Strasbourg, France.


On numerous occasions, she has been designated professor of Laparoscopic Surgery Training programs, teaching novel surgical techniques and performing live exhibition surgery.

Credited for being one of the youngest surgeons to be certified by Inamed and Johnson & Johnson and was designated as a Center of Excellence surgeon by the U.S. company Surgical Review Corporation, with the distinction of being the first woman to achieve this internationally.

Lead Bariatric, Metabolic and General Surgeon. Director of LIMARP International Center of Excellence for obesity. She has quite an impressive background in the field of medicine. She is certified by the Mexican Board of General Surgery and by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.

Her recent book publication "How much does your life weigh?", is dedicated to all the people who are overweight and struggling from obesity who seek medical help.

Dr. Pompa is the General Director of LIMARP SURGICAL UNIT, which is one of the busiest weight loss surgery centers across the country. She is the creator of "The Bariatric Program", clinical guidelines and excellence process in quality of care of the patient, through which she has helped thousands of people all over the world suffering from obesity.

Dr. Pompa also founded a non-profit organization called LIMARP FOUNDATION, for patients with no economical resources, launching different health campaigns against obesity in her native city of Tijuana, Mexico.




Dr. Josué Torres Chávez
Professional license 6844212, Autonomous University of Baja California

With advanced experience in the difficult airway management of obese patients and with more than 3000 procedures under his belt, including the Lap Band procedure, Gastric Sleeve, Gastric Bypass and Duodenal Switch.

He graduated from medical school from Baja California’s Autonomous University, Tijuana Campus to later do a residency in Anesthesia in Tijuana’s General Hospital were he was appointed chief of Residents since his second year of this speciality. He is a member of the Mexican Society of Anesthesia, member of the Mexican Federation of Anesthesia, the International Society of Anesthesiologists, member of Tijuana’s Anesthesiology college and a certified specialist in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

As an anecdote, during their years of residency at Tijuana’s General Hospital, Dr Torres and Dr. Pompa were on the same night shifts where Dr. Torres gave his first anesthesia on Dr. Pompa’s first patient with acute appendicitis. Since then, as responsible and committed specialists, they have dedicated their private practice to treating patients with obesity at LIMARP.




Dr. Carlos Bernardo Villarreal Rubio

He plays a vital role in LIMARP when dealing with high cardiovascular risk obese patients.

Dr Carlos Villareal graduated from Baja California Autonomous University, practicing Anesthesia residency in Tijuana's General hospital, to later complete a sub-specialty in cardioanesthesiology at Ignacio Chavez Hospital in Mexico City. He is a member of the Mexican Society of Anesthesia, member of the American Association of Cardioanesthesia and a certified specialist in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).





Dr. Marco A. Rodas Nava, Plastic Surgeon,
Autonomous University of Baja California; professional license 5610372,

He is specialized in plastic and reconstructive surgery and is certified by the Mexican Council of Plastic, Esthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.

He is a member of the Mexican Association for Plastic, Esthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
